SMB1 for Sonos Controller 1 to discover music library

Linux Smb Sonos Mount

I attempted to share a network drive with Sonos, but my Sonos Controller 1 application did not show the option to add a Music Library

https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-and-music-services-228995/update-music-library-now-is-greyed-out-6865011

Turns out I had to download and install it again 🤷

Also, the Sonos Controller 1 application needs SMB1 enabled to be able to use smb shares as a Music Library

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1265923/configuring-20-04-samba-for-smbv1

This can be enabled with the following in the smb configuration on the server.

server min protocol = NT1

Read more over at https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/current/man-html/smb.conf.5.html#SERVERMAXPROTOCOL

I also for some reason have this, which I believe improved permissions handling from macos (?)

smb1 unix extensions = no

Don’t really remember.
